The company is owned and operated by Catherine Ivie. It is located in sunny Phoenix, Arizona and provides services to schools throughout the U.S.A.   FAT$TAF, LLC, is committed to meeting your school's Financial Aid needs and to helping you through the complicated process of administering Federal Student Aid. We will be with you every step of the way.

Catherine  E. Ivie
Owner, Financial Aid Director and Consultant
Catherine has an extensive background in financial aid and post-secondary school administration spanning approximately 32 years. Her background includes such diverse experience as Admissions Representative, School Director, School Owner, Financial Aid Officer, Corporate Fiscal Officer, Corporate Financial Aid Director for a chain of 15 colleges, Third Party Servicer Director and a Title IV Consultant to an array of post secondary institutions. Catherine's experience includes the administrative management of employees for multiple campuses overseeing as many as 40 Financial Aid Advisors and Compliance Officers. She is well versed in all aspects of Title IV Regulations and Title IV delivery systems and has an excellent working relationship with the U.S. Department of Education. Catherine brings with her to her own company, FAT$TAF, LLC, a wealth of knowledge and experience difficult to surpass in the field of post secondary education.

Ditza BenShalom
Assistant Director/Director of Accounting
Ditza brings with her to FAT$TAF, LLC over 25 years of experience in accounting and business management. She holds a degree in accounting and for approximately 18 years she has concentrated her accounting expertise in the areas of Title IV fiscal administration and Federal Student Aid compliance. Ditza demonstrates excellence and precision in her honed ability to reconcile school accounts keeping them in compliance with federal regulations. She is adept in all aspects of USDE reporting as well as auditing of student files and supervision of financial aid staff.

Gina Barciz
FAA/Quality Assurance Manager
Gina brings with her 23 years of diverse and professional experience in the lender and school servicing fields. Her many talents include student financial aid packaging, verification and file reviews, PELL and COD reporting, reconciliation, default management, team trainer, software tester and electronic data exchange specialist. Excellent customer service skills, honesty, dedication and hard work are the foundation of her work ethic.

Elliot Howard
FAA/Desktop IT
Elliot holds several degrees including an Associates in Justice Administration, a Bachelors in Management and a Masters in Innovative Leadership. With over 15 years of experience in Federal Student Aid he has held positions as a Financial Aid Specialist, Student Advisor, Financial Planner, Financial Aid Administrator and Associate Director of College Access Programs for the Arizona Commission for Post Secondary Education. He is experienced in all aspects packaging and processing of Title IV funds. Elliot is a dedicated and disciplined Financial Aid Administrator and individual with an impeccable work ethic.

Karla Cooper
FAA/Accreditation Manager
Karla Cooper has over 37 years of professional experience in all aspects of vocational school operations to include school administration, education, admissions, and financial aid administration.  Karla's experience also includes a long history in accreditation compliance, consulting, and training.  Her excellent customer service skills make her a valuable asset on our FAT$TAF team.

Jason DeStevens
FAA/Assistant Director of Accounting
Jason is a dedicated Financial Aid Administrator with a strong desire to help students meet their educational goals. He holds a Masters degree in accounting and has over 15 years of experience in Student Financial Aid administration. He has a methodical, mathematical mind and is experienced in all areas of financial aid packaging and processing. He is also highly skilled in his use of various types of software programs and USDE systems used in the administration of Title IV funds. 

Jael Martinez
FAA/Packaging Manager
With over 30 years of service to students and proprietary schools in the area of Federal Student Aid, Jael demonstrates her highly developed organizational, communication and training skills on a daily basis. Having held positions as a Financial Aid Advisor, Financial Aid Administrator, Default Manager, Assistant Financial Aid  Director and Financial Aid Director, she is a veteran financial aid professional, experienced in every aspect of Title IV funding and compliance. Jael is a team player who provides a strong and valuable resource for her schools and coworkers.

Melanie Sumner
Fiscal Officer
Melanie Sumner comes to us with an array of office experience ranging from general management skills, bookkeeping, data entry, loan processing, HR, and customer service. Her positive attitude and willingness to help in addition to her great multi-tasking ability makes Melanie a valuable asset to FAT$TAF.
